Aiden WMS

User guide

This user guide explains how to work with the applications in the Aiden WMS Client on a handheld or desktop. Each application has its own page with the steps you go through, a flow diagram and the settings that change how the application behaves.

Applications

  • User guide - Goods Receipt: receive goods on purchase orders and other incoming documents.

  • User guide - Put Away: move received stock from a receiving location to its storage location.

  • User guide - Picking: pick the lines of a pick list, optionally into carriers (pick-to-label).

  • User guide - Pick On Order: pick an outgoing order directly from stock, line by line.

  • User guide - Packaging: pack picked goods into carriers and complete the packaging task.

  • User guide - Inbound Return: receive returned goods on a return request.

  • User guide - Replenishment: replenish pick locations: first get the stock, then put it away.

  • User guide - Stock Counting: count stock per location on a counting list.

How the applications work

Tasks. Most applications start with a task list. A task is the document or location you work on, for example a purchase order, a pick list or a counting list. Tap a task or scan its number. Which tasks you see depends on the task groups assigned to you.

Function keys. Every screen shows its function keys at the bottom. F1 Return always takes you one step back; on the task list it closes the application. The other keys depend on the screen and on the settings of the application. Keys that depend on a setting are described on the page of each application.

Team up. When another user is already working on the task you select, the application asks if you want to team up. Choose Yes to work on the same task together, or No to go back to the task list.

Details. When a document or line has notes, the application can show them in a Details screen before you start. Whether this screen appears is a setting per application.

Scanning. Wherever you can scan a barcode, you can also type it. Locations, items, batches and serial numbers are checked straight away; if something is not valid, a message appears and you stay on the same screen.

Printing. Print screens only appear when a report is set up for that print moment. You then choose a printer, print and continue.

Resume. When you leave the application or lose the connection, the application remembers where you were. When you open it again, you continue on the same screen.

Changes by others. When a task is cancelled or closed elsewhere while you are working on it, the application shows a message and takes you back to the task list.

Reading the flow diagrams

The flow diagrams on each page use the following shapes:

Shape

Meaning

White card with a blue top bar

A screen in the WMS Client, with its screen ID

Grey card

A step the system performs, without a screen

Grey diamond

A decision: the flow continues on the "yes" or "no" side

Dashed card

A sub-flow that is explained separately

Green label

A setting (parameter) that changes the flow

Blue block

Start or end of the flow

The steps are numbered; the text on the cards refers to those numbers, for example "back to 2".
