Create new SAP HANA database Driver

When using an unsupported SAP HANA database driver on the ProSuite server, then it is not possible to connect to the database.

As of Platform Service version 3.0.1.9, it is possible to create a new driver for the platform and it’s running applications (works only for supported applications such as WarehousePro).

The tool can be found at <install dir>\B1ProSuite\Software Platform\Software Platform\HanaDrivers\HanaDriversCreator\B1ProSuite_HanaDriver.exe .

Create new drivers

Make sure that the “Hana Driver Path“ matches the location of the installed “hdbclient“. Click the “Browse“ button to change this location.

Select your desired “Save to folder“ and click the “Create Hana Driver(s)“ button.

Once the creation process is finished, the drivers will be stored in the path specified.

Use the “Open Folder“ button to open the target folder which now contains the new drivers.

Use driver in B1 ProSuite Platform

Copy the DB_Driver_Hana_Platform.dll file into your platform’s drive folder: <install dir>\B1ProSuite\Software Platform\Software Platform\HanaDrivers\.

When selecting you database setting, make sure to change the “Hana Drivers“ version to “Hana“ (without version numbers).

Use driver in B1 ProSuite Applications

This procedure only works for applications that support this “custom“ driver setup.

The instruction below uses WarehousePro v3.4.1.0 as an example.

Copy the DB_Driver_Hana_Application.dll file into your application’s packet folder: <install dir>\B1ProSuite\Software Platform\Software Platform\Packets\Applications\WarehousePro\3.4.1.0\WarehousePro\Bin\DB_Drivers.

The application automatically uses the driver version selected in the B1 ProSuite Platform Database Settings.

Currently supported:

  • WarehousePro (v3.4.1.0 and higher)
