Retrieval of bankstatements via your bank connection works in the background.
Pre-requisite for correct operation is to have the bank connectivity portal authenticated at your online bank platform(s). This is something every 90 or 180 days (dependent of the bank) needs to take place.
You will be reminded daily by email 5 days before actual expiration.
In addition to the email, details are also available from the portal itself. Just click on the alarmbel in the right top on the screen or the individual bankaccount tile:
